There doesn't seem to be any remedy except 1) uninstalling the drivers. 2) re-seating the card many times, 3) touching/grounding the PCI contacts and the back of the PCB and 4) re-installing the Xonar drivers. Usually you have to wait for a relay "click" multiple times. For me, the process needs to get repeated a LOT of times before the card volume will work again. Sometimes I'd have to leave the card sitting on my desk for a few days before it works again. I'm pretty much ready to give up this Xonar STX and go with the SoundBlaster ZXR.Īn update and some details I missed.
